Background and details
Not far from the sanatorium, close to the village of Barvikha, there are the village of Podushkino and the village of Shulgino, surrounded by gated communities and townhouses. The pillow stands on a hill above Saminka. It stretches along the Podushkinskoye highway, lined here with larch trees forming a picturesque alley. From the center of the village down to Saminka and the forestry, an ancient birch alley descends. Almost merged with Podushkino, on the high picturesque Petrovsky ravine stands the ancient village of Rozhdestvenno (Yamshchikovo, Sophino, Christmas).
It is believed that the village of Podushkino received its name in the second half of the XV century by the name of its owner I.V. Podushkino. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1627, when a census of the lands located along the Smolensk tract was conducted. In 1652, Podushkino was bought by boyar I.D. Miloslavsky, father-in-law of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. Miloslavsky also owned the villages of Kuntsevo and Fili. They owned Podushkin and ancient Rozhdestvenno until 1710, when these villages passed to Naryshkin, and in 1762 they were bought by a representative of the ancient noble family A.M. Voeikov, who was engaged in breeding and selling horses. Perhaps one of his descendants wrote L.N.
Tolstoy, in his short story Holstomer: Returning home the next evening, the herd ran into the owner with the guest when the owner and the guest deliberately entered the middle of the horses, showing something to each other and talking. “I bought this one from Voeikov, gray in apples,” the owner said. One-storey landlord house stood next to the church. Down on Saminka was a water mill with two pairs of millstones. In the early 1850s, the village of Podushkino and the village of Rozhdestvenno passed to General A.B. Kazakov, who was engaged in the supply of horses to the army and the imperial stables.
During the emancipation of peasants, in the early 1860s, the Pushkin peasants received a land allotment of 97.5 dessiatines (90 hectares), and Christmas dessiatines (97 hectares). Allotments for each peasant were small, but the Pushkin and Christmas peasants mostly continued to engage in agriculture. And now of all the villages and villages of the Barvikhin settlement, the village of Podushkino is the most agricultural.
